JOE CAPOTORTO is the VP of Production & Development at Double Nickel Entertainment, focused on managing and growing the company’s diverse feature and episodic slate. 

 

Joe first joined the company in 2021 as a Creative Executive, working alongside the Partners and Amazon Studios on the critically-acclaimed 2023 film THE BURIAL starring Jamie Foxx, Tommy Lee Jones, and Jurnee Smollett. Earlier this year, Joe served as a Producer on the upcoming Sky Cinema film GROW starring Golda Rosheuvel and Nick Frost. 

 

Prior to Double Nickel, Joe began his career at The Gersh Agency, first as a Mailroom Floater and then Assistant to a Film Literary Agent working closely with an eclectic client list that included directors, writers, and below-the-line crew.

 

Joe graduated cum laude from Columbia University with a Master’s in Film Producing and cum laude from Vassar College. His Columbia thesis film NICE TALKING TO YOU, which he produced and co-wrote with award-winning filmmaker Saim Sadiq, premiered at the 2019 SXSW Film Festival before being selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick.
